DMSCA

The Diverse Manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance (DMSCA) is a Washington D.C. area based national nonprofit membership organization consisting original equipment manufacturers (OEMS), large tier 1/primes, and the diverse manufacturing and logistics suppliers that compete in their supply chain networks.

DMSCA’s mission is the identification, qualification and selection of diverse manufacturing and logistics suppliers for value-added inclusion and sustainment in the strategically sourced supply chains of its corporate members.

DMSCA operates as a community of practice centered on its management of a strategic supplier development initiative called the Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) in which suppliers engage to mitigate performance risk and improve their unique supply chain plan-source-make-deliver-return-enable processes and overall operational maturity in twelve whole enterprise areas. The CMP is marketed to strategic suppliers’ as a comprehensive supply chain performance excellence program (self-assessment), before, during, and after supply chain engagement both to meet expected customer performance requirements and to assure continuous improvement. DMSCA’s current corporate membership include Johnson & Johnson, Caterpillar, McCormick & Co., Merck, Kellogg, Delhi, Boeing, Starbucks, Grainger, Cargill, Medtronic, and others.

DMSCA and APICS SCC

DMSCA leverages the APICS Supply Chain Council's Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model for benchmarking supplier supply chain performance, developing a supply chain strategy, determining supply chain process gaps, performance gap root causes, and applying the best practices for performance gap closure. The CMP System is implemented through a supply chain excellence process framework based on five stages of suppliers’ engagement CMP 1.0 – CMP System Overview; CMP 2.0 Organizational and Performance Benchmarking Readiness; CMP 3.0 – Performance Benchmarking; CMP 4.0 – Analysis and Deployment; and CMP 5.0 – Development, Expansion, and Continuous Improvement. In additional to supplier performance reports, Supplier performance is reported through a cloud-based supplier performance dashboard called CMP OneView™, which fosters collaboration between Suppliers and Customers. Based on Suppliers’ progression through the SCOR driven CMP, DMSCA also provides an online CMP Suppliers’ Supply Chain Operational Maturity Certification at three levels of progressive maturity.

DMSCA CMP's scope is national.
