It’s hard to believe 2012 is almost a memory, and we will soon all be struggling to type the correct year__2013__on our documents. While every year at this time it seems like I experience the same “this year went fast” feelings, 2012 has had its unique share of ups and downs.
The events of the past year have made us acutely aware of the importance of our profession and the many individuals that play an important role in shaping our outlook and vision for the future. APICS is successful because of the dedication of its members, customers, and affiliates. You inspire me in my work every day.
These past few years we have witnessed the remarkable elevation of supply chain management as a profession. Many of you are living examples of the changes that are occurring, and that’s exciting. A new picture of manufacturing and supply chain management is emerging from the ashes of the Great Recession. Supply chain professionals are creating strategies and making substantial contributions to their companies’ ability to serve customers, meet challenges, and improve economies.
And like the profession it serves, APICS, too, is evolving. In January, we will integrate the APICS Educational and Research Foundation into the APICS corporate structure. APICS is investing significant resources to position the E&R Foundation to take a leadership role in supply chain research and innovation.
APICS will remain dedicated to helping you meet your challenges and experience success. I look forward to working with you in maintaining and enhancing our leaderhip position as the premier supply chain association in 2013 and beyond.
Sincerely,

Abe Eshkenazi
