APICS Foundation advances supply chain innovation through research
CHICAGO (August 12, 2013) – APICS, the world’s largest and most respected association for supply chain and operations management professionals, today announced changes to the APICS Foundation that will better position the foundation to deliver quality education and thought leadership.
APICS is the premier source of the body of knowledge and professional certifications in supply chain and operations management, and the APICS Foundation provides research, thought leadership, educational programs and workforce development to supply chain and operations management professionals across the globe.
The APICS Foundation, previously known as the APICS Educational & Research Foundation, remains a separate corporate entity and maintains its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, but now is part of the APICS corporate structure.
Sharon Rice, APICS executive vice president of professional development and industry content, serves as executive director of the APICS Foundation.
“The foundation’s new structure and experienced leadership team empower it to provide cutting-edge research and innovation during a time of tremendous growth and opportunity in the field of supply chain management,” said APICS Foundation President Roberta Russell, PhD, CFPIM, CSCP. “This helps the foundation connect professionals, academics and researchers, and advances new supply chain and operations strategies, along with aiding workforce development. APICS members and their employers will recognize and benefit from these changes.”
