Harry Truman’s Independence
Monday, September 15, 2008
10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Visit Independence, Missouri, the home of Harry S. Truman, 33rd President of the United States. This tour features a collection of artifacts and information from President Truman’s life and career, including:
Visit the Summer White House where President Truman learned that South Korea was invaded on June 24, 1950. See the Truman Library—one of only ten presidential libraries in the United States administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
Attend this tour to see the role Independence, Missouri, played in opening the West. Attendees will complete their tour at the Bingham-Waggoner Estate. Built in 1855, this magnificent house has been completely restored to its original condition.
Kansas City Fountain Tour/Plaza Shopping/Lunch on Own

Take the Kansas City Fountain Tour to experience this outdoor museum of romantic Spanish architecture and European art. Since 1922, the open-air public art gallery has continuously added to its collection of fountains, sculptures, and murals.
Tour participants can enjoy this 15-block district, home to more than 150 shops and dozens of fine restaurants.
Get to know the fountains of Kansas City—one of the features for which Kansas City is most known. In fact, Kansas City has more fountains than any other city in the United States, ranking second in the world to Rome, Italy.
