In 2005, members of Genentech’s product operations strategic planning group began a project to quantify the company’s catastrophic-risk profile. They first consulted with insurance companies to generate a list of potential hazards and then estimated the likelihood of each occurring. They also contacted the U.S. Geological Survey and determined earthquake frequency and magnitude at their location. This session will outline the risk model they developed and how it can be applied in your supply chain.
