"Supply Chain Management: Beyond the Horizon"

“Supply Chain Management: Beyond the Horizon” is an industry-focused initiative with research and educational components conducted by Michigan State University’s (MSU) Department of Supply Chain Management, with involvement from MSU Executive Development Programs and the Broad College of Business. The study was carried out over a two-year period, with initial results published in 2015. Support is provided by the APICS Supply Chain Council and the John H. McConnell Chair in Business Administration at MSU.

The study examines factors in three areas, namely

  • an organization’s business model
  • an organization's management
  • the interrelationship between the business model and supply chain operations.

The study identified and examined the capabilities necessary for strategic supply chain success, thus redefining the future of global supply chain management. The white papers and APICS magazine articles that resulted from the study can be found below.
