APICS Foundation 2014 Board Drives Research, Education and

Thought Leadership in Supply Chain and Operations Management

                                                                                                           

CHICAGO (January 24, 2014) – The APICS Foundation, a nonprofit organization that advances supply chain and operations management and innovation through research, educational programs and talent development, today announced its 2014 Board of Directors that will lead the foundation in a year of dynamic progress and programs.

The APICS Foundation 2014 board officers and members are:

“The APICS Foundation’s 2014 board is comprised of forward-looking leaders who work to connect practitioners, academics, researchers and consultants in meaningful and impactful ways,” said APICS Foundation Executive Director Sharon Rice. “We are honored to have these prominent and prolific individuals and organizations serve on the APICS Foundation Board as we move into another productive year.”

Board President Karl Klaesius added, “2014 will be a year of growth and progress for the APICS Foundation. Our directors are working in partnership with APICS to grow the organization and maximize its relevance to the field.The Foundation is overseeing numerous conferences and events, educational workshops, publications, and programs for students and scholars, as well as spearheading significant industry research.”

Notable among the Foundation’s research is “Supply Chain Management: Beyond the Horizon,” a two-year study conducted in partnership with Michigan State University's Department of Supply Chain Management that will identify and examine the capabilities necessary for strategic supply chain success. The results will redefine the future of global supply chain management, and preliminary findings will be issued in 2014.
