7.3 Project metrics

Project metrics are the final measurement and evaluation of a project. Metrics are selected, established, and set for assessment in the early phases of a project, if not immediately. Common project metrics are the duration of a project, its earliest completion time, the number of critical paths, and project slack. Budgets and
financial ratios are used to analyze and assess the ongoing and final value of the project. Customer, user, and practitioner surveys also are used to measure and evaluate projects.

7.3.1 Post-project reviews

Post-project reviews evaluate how a project might have been done differently to improve outcomes. They become particularly important when similar projects are repeated over time.
