CHICAGO (October 23, 2013) – The APICS Foundation today announced the appointment of Robert L. Bregman, PhD, as editor of its publication, the Production and Inventory Management Journal (P&IMJ).
P&IMJ publishes academic research and articles that cover the ever-changing and complex interrelationships of processes in manufacturing and service-oriented enterprises.
Bregman is an associate professor in the Decision and Information Sciences department at the University of Houston. He previously taught at Texas A&M University and Ohio State University and worked at leading engineering and industrial construction companies. Bregman has authored more than 20 research articles published in journals including Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Logistics, International Journal of Production Economics, Omega and P&IMJ. He has presented his research at dozens of industry conferences, companies and universities throughout the United States.
“We are delighted Dr. Bregman will lead the Production and Inventory Management Journal into a new era,” said Sharon Rice, APICS Foundation executive director. “P&IMJ publishes high-quality research that advances the supply chain and operations management fields through its coverage of trends, analysis and emerging topics.”
Bregman’s past service to APICS includes overseeing student competitions, serving on the board of the Houston chapter and serving as associate editor of P&IMJ. “I’m delighted to accept this position and look forward to elevating P&IMJ in support of the mission of the APICS Foundation,” Bregman said.
