CNN’s Fareed Zakaria and first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot Carey Lohrenz to lead premier supply chain conference speaker lineup

CHICAGO – April 4, 2019 – The Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) today announced that registration is now open for its inaugural conference, ASCM 2019. The event will be held in Las Vegas September 16 – 18, 2019. Additionally, ASCM announced that the keynotes at this year’s event will be CNN Worldwide host, Washington Post columnist and bestselling author Fareed Zakaria and former lieutenant and first female F-14 Tomcat pilot Carey Lohrenz.

ASCM’s inaugural event will not only build on the past success of APICS conferences but will expand the breadth and depth of the immersive educational sessions that will propel supply chain forward and transform how organizations do business. This year’s keynotes will join more than 65 end-to-end supply chain educational sessions inspired by the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, which includes six topic areas: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return and Enable. New ‘emerging trends’ sessions will focus on hot topics such as AI, blockchain and threatcasting. Additional programming will include the third Women’s Supply Chain Forum.

“Businesses are now seeing the incredible advantage they can gain through strategic supply chain management and cross-functional leadership, which in turn is elevating the need for supply chain C-suite leaders,” said ASCM CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “Attending ASCM 2019 will help those who want to forge ahead in their careers expand their technical expertise as well as broaden their overall business acumen.”
