The J.R. Tony Arnold Memorial Fund

On September 21, 2012, the supply chain and operations community lost a pioneer and thought leader. The APICS Board of Directors is deeply saddened by the passing of J.R. Tony Arnold, CFPIM, CIRM. Arnold's contributions to APICS and our entire community are immeasurable and enduring. To honor his memory the APICS Board has authorized establishment of a fund his name within the APICS Supply Chain Council. APICS has committed initial funding of $250,000.

About author, educator, practitioner, and APICS volunteer J.R. Tony Arnold, CFPIM, CIRM

Arnold authored Introduction to Materials Management, one of the preeminent textbooks in the supply chain and operations management field. In addition, he contributed greatly to the APICS “Basics of Supply Chain Management” course and the “Fundamentals of Materials and Operations Management” series.

His influence is evident in the more than 97,000 APICS CPIM designees around the world and the countless individuals who have participated in APICS Fundamentals and Principles courses.

Throughout his long career and involvement in APICS, Arnold gave tirelessly of his time and talent to introduce many young minds to the APICS body of knowledge as professor and mentor to his students at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario.

The J.R. Tony Arnold Memorial Fund

This memorial fund will help APICS and the APICS Supply Chain Council further Tony Arnold’s work, developing skills, recognizing professional excellence, and advancing the supply chain and operations management profession in the global marketplace.
