Netflix co-founder and psychology expert to lead premier supply chain conference speaker lineup

CHICAGO – April 5, 2018 – Today APICS, the professional association for supply chain management, announced that registration is open for APICS 2018, to be held in Chicago, Illinois from September 30 – October 2, 2018. Additionally, APICS announced that the keynotes at this year’s event will be Netflix Co-Founder, Executive Mentor and Angel Investor Marc Randolph, and Psychology of Leadership, Sales and Change Expert Connie Podesta.

APICS’s annual conference brings together more than 2,000 professionals from over 50 countries, covering all areas of the value chain. The educational conference provides an immersive learning environment that will advance the knowledge, skills and ability of supply chain professionals to move organizations forward. This year’s keynotes will join the more than 65 educational sessions inspired by the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model. Sessions will be divided into six topic areas: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return and Enable.

“APICS conference programming delivers a broad range of content and viewpoints addressing end-to-end supply chain topics. With our keynotes, we strive to find exciting and insightful thought leaders whose experience goes beyond traditional supply chain roles. This year’s keynotes are no exception,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “Each has unique experiences that will bring fresh perspectives to conference attendees who are looking to expand their viewpoints along with their skill sets.”

More on each keynote speaker below:

Marc Randolph is a veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur, advisor, investor and keynote speaker. Randolph was a co-founder of the online movie and television streaming service Netflix, serving as its founding CEO, as the executive producer of its website and as a member of the board of directors until his retirement in 2004. Although best known for starting Netflix, Randolph has been a founder of more than half a dozen other successful start-ups, a mentor to hundreds of early-stage entrepreneurs and an investor in numerous tech ventures. He works extensively with young entrepreneur programs and is a trustee of the non-profit National Outdoor Leadership School.

Connie Podesta is an award-winning author, former radio/TV personality and therapist. Her areas of expertise include sales, leadership, change, accountability and engagement. Podesta understands the importance of having goals, but, as a therapist and expert in psychology, she had found that goals should not be limited to the person setting them. To transform, you need to take risks, be open to new things and be confident. Podesta’s years of experience have helped individuals out-shine past performance, out-think old ideas and out-maneuver anyone who says it can't be done.

In addition to the keynotes and many educational sessions, APICS 2018 will feature networking events and facility tours, including UI Labs and Solider Field. Learn more about all activities available to attendees throughout the three-day conference.

APICS also will showcase the most innovative products and services in the supply chain business as part of the APICS Expo, to be held in conjunction with the conference. Both attendees and exhibitors will have the opportunity to learn about the businesses shaping the industry and the people behind them in a fun and interactive environment.
