Premier supply chain professional organization continues to provide career value to its members
CHICAGO – July 13, 2017 – Today APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain management, announced several summertime promotions for its certification programs. Until September 2017, there are special offers for APICS’s Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) credential programs, two of the leading certifications for supply chain, logistics and operations management professionals.
“APICS continuously looks for new ways to help supply chain professionals further their careers,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “We designed these promotions to encourage and enable more of our members to take advantage of the summer months to focus on their professional development goals.”
Globally, employers look for applicants with an APICS credential when making critical hiring decisions. Both certifications signify that a supply chain professional will be a valuable asset to an organization. The summer promotions include:
- CLTD Free Exam Retake – The CLTD credential demonstrates an individual’s in-depth knowledge of a broad range of topics in logistics, transportation and distribution. It’s well suited for those looking to advance their career in logistics. Candidates can test now with confidence because they’ll receive a free retake if needed. This free retake offer is available for exams taken until August 31, 2017.
- CPIM BSCM Online Class Bundle – The CPIM credential demonstrates that an individual has the knowledge and skills to strategically streamline operations and maximize ROI on systems and technologies. Candidates who register for one of the summertime Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) online courses will receive a BSCM Participant Workbook, as well as access to online study tools like the APICS Dictionary, a BSCM exam and a $100 USD discount off the new CPIM Part 2 exam.
APICS certifications provide tangible career benefits. APICS member Arun Raman, CPIM, SCOR-P, credits his APICS certifications with helping him to stand out from a crowded pool of applicants during his job search. In addition, Arun says that APICS certifications “gave me a great opportunity to help my employer understand the technical expertise that I bring to the company.”
These promotions are timed in conjunction with the newest version of CPIM, due to be released later this month. The updated version of CPIM will feature a streamlined examination process of only two exams, decreasing the time needed to earn the designation. The promotions and CPIM updates are designed to make professional development more accessible and beneficial to our members, in order to match the needs of supply chain professionals.
