APICS Appoints 2017 Young Professonal Board Guest

Allison Dykeman will bring unique perspective to further shape the future of supply chain

CHICAGO – May 15, 2017 – Today APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain management, appointed Allison Dykeman, Supply Chain Planner at Scholastic, Inc., as the 2017 young professional Board guest. The young professional Board guest is appointed to share their experience and knowledge with the APICS Board to further advance the association and the supply chain field.

“APICS is dedicated to supporting supply chain professionals at all stages of their careers and developing future leaders,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “Like our Board members, Dykeman will devote her time, energy, and ideas to help lead the association forward and, in turn, lead the supply chain management community to greater success.”

Young professional Board guest roles and responsibilities include:

  • Providing a young professional’s voice and perspective
  • Ongoing input to Board deliberations and decision making
  • Actively engaging in both Board and APICS meetings and events
  • Participating as a non-voting guest of the Board

Dykeman will serve in this capacity from May 1 - Dec. 31, 2017.

“I love to bring new ideas to the table,” said Dykeman. “I believe that challenging thought processes with different opinions and ideas leads to more innovative and creative solutions, which directly supports APICS’s mission to continually advance the supply chain profession. I’m honored to be appointed and look forward to the experience.”

As the young professional Board guest, Dykeman will participate in Board dinners, APICS Board meetings, the APICS 2017 annual conference, and the APICS Board retreat. Outside of providing value to the APICS Board, these opportunities will also enable Dykeman to develop as a professional and leader.
