Electronic Submission: Electronic files are accepted but must be saved on CD or Zip disk (FTP and e-mail not accepted). All disks should be labeled by platform with content.

Publisher is not responsible for electronic files. Any cost for incomplete data or manipulation of files on the part of the magazine printer will result in charges assessed to the advertiser ($100 per change). Publisher strongly recommends that files go through a preflight system, such as FlightCheck, as the final step before saving file to disk. All ads submitted electronically must be accompanied by an SWOP standard digital proof.

QuarkXpress created on a Mac platform is preferred. Call for details on submitting PC files.

Set document up to the trim size of the magazine. Allow 1/8" bleed and 1/8" safety margin from trim. All files and artwork should be CMYK unless other colors have been arranged in advance.

Send laser or color proof pulled from submitted files at 100 percent.

Send all printer and screen fonts (Type 1/PostScript, no TrueType fonts). Do not stylize fonts in Quark. For example: use Helvetica bold, rather than clicking on "B" to make plain Helvetica bold. Please do not use Multiple-Master fonts.

Send all high-resolution images and graphics. Do not use JPEG compression.

Save Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, etc., files as CMYK. Do not set screening or transfer functions in Photoshop. For type runarounds, create a clipping path around the image in Photoshop and save as an EPS (do not use Quark's clipping path feature).

Do not save images as TIFFs with NONE chosen as background color in picture box (in Quark).

Do not nest EPS files. Backsave Illustrator 9.0 files to a lower version.
