The APICS Puerto Rico Chapter was founded in 1978 as a non-profit educational organization, driven by the laws, Standard Operating Procedures and the body of knowledge of APICS. As an educational driven society APICS Puerto Rico Chapter have use the body of  knowledge of APICS to develop thousands of professionals in Operations Management in Puerto Rico through seminars, conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities.

Platinum Chapter

Strong, solid organizations measure their effectiveness using metrics related to their administrative excellence. For APICS these metrics are centered on the effectiveness of the local chapters. Each chapter must render an annual report showing how it met/exceeded these metrics. The awards for compliance are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. To reach the Platinum category the local chapter must have achieved Gold during five consecutive years.

Our APICS Puerto Rico Chapter reached its first Gold award in 1994 during Angel Sosa’s term as chapter president. We have been a Platinum chapter since 1998. This year 2020 marks our 26th year as a Platinum chapter.  The Puerto Rico chapter is one of the outstanding chapters in the APICS organization.
