Finding Products and Placing Order

Using the Shop APICS enhanced search capability

Shop APICS can be accessed by selecting “SHOP” from the navigation at the top of the apics.org home page. Once you do, you will land on the Shop APICS home page.  From there you have several ways to locate the products you are looking for.

  • You can search by keyword using the Search Bar:
    • The search bar is located toward the top of the page under the apics.org main menu. Here you can enter a search term which may be a topic, title, stock number or any other descriptive term.
    • You can search all products available for purchase through Shop APICS, or you can refine your search by clicking on the drop down box immediately to the left of the search box and selecting one of the high level categories. If you do so, your result set will be limited to those products aligned with the category selected that match the search term you entered into the search box.
  • Browsing by category using the category navigation:
    • On the left side of the Shop APICS home page, you will see a list of categories that you can use to browse the set of products available for purchase through Shop APICS.
    • By clicking on any of these categories you will be able to browse the products that are aligned to the given category.  

 

Using the search result pages

Whether you search for products using the search box, or by selecting a category of products to browse, your results will be displayed on the search results page.

  • By default, the search results will be displayed in a grid format, sorted according to relevance, and 15 to a page.  You can change these settings by using the options just above the search results.
  • You have the ability to further refine your list of products by using the filters to the left of the page.

 

Accessing product details and adding products to your cart

Once you find a product on the search result page that you would like more information about, you can either click on the product name or product image to access more information about the product.

  • On the product details page, you will see the product pricing, the full product description as well as any additional details that may exist. In addition, you have the ability to enlarge the product image.
  • If you determine that you would like to purchase the product, you can indicate your desire to do so from the product details page.
    • Purchasing from APICS: most of the items that are found in Shop APICS can be purchased through APICS.  When this is the case, you will have the ability to indicate the quantity to be purchased and add the item to your cart by clicking on the Add to Cart button.  Once you do so, you will be taken to the View Shopping Cart page.
    • Purchasing from Amazon:  there are a few items found in Shop APICS that cannot be purchased through APICS.  When this is the case, you will be presented with a Buy from Amazon button.  Clicking this button will open a new window showing you the APICS shopping page within Amazon.  You will still have Shop APICS open on the detail page in the original window. From the Amazon site, you will be able to follow Amazon’s process for purchasing the item. As you are purchasing the item through Amazon, the order will not be accessible via Order History on apics.org.

 

How do I place an order for items sold through Shop APICS?

  • From the View Shopping Cart page:
    • Once you have added the items you would like to purchase to your shopping cart:
      • If you are paying for the order yourself, click on the “Check Out” button to proceed.
      • If you are an APICS channel partner representative who is authorized to purchase on behalf of the partner, click the box indicating that you would like to checkout as an APICS chapter or international associate.  A box will appear in which you can fill in the channel partner billing number.  Once you have done so, the pricing in the cart will be updated.  Click the checkout button to proceed.
      • In order to place an order, you must be logged into the website. If you are not logged in, you will be requested to do so at this time.
        • If you've purchased from the site before, just enter your username and password, then proceed with your order. If you are not sure of what your user name and password are, you can contact APICS customer service at service@apics.org, or 1-800-444-2742 or +1-773-867-1777 from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CT.
        • If you have not created an account on the site, you will be prompted to do so.
  • Checkout Step 1 of 3: From this page you are asked to provide shipping information for the order.
    • Shipping Name and Address:
      • If the products are being shipped to you, please verify that the address as displayed on the page is correct.  If it is not:
        • Click the Change button above your name to view the additional addresses associated with your record
        • If the address that you want to ship the products to is listed, click the Use Address button above the address.
        • If the address that you want to ship the products to is not listed, click on the click here to add a new address link above the address book to add a new address to your record. Complete the form provided and click the Save Address button.  From the next page, click on the Use Address button.
          • Please note that while you are required to enter an Address Name, this name is only used to differentiate between addresses on your record (i.e., Home, Billing, or Vacation) and is not used to identify a different person to ship to.
          • If the products are not being shipped to you, check the Ship to someone other than myself button that is below the email addresses and complete the form that appears.
      • Shipping Phone Number:
        • The phone number of the person that the order is being shipped to is required by couriers in order to ship the product. It is important that you include a valid phone number for the recipient so that they can be contacted if there is a delivery issue.
      • Shipping email addresses:
        • You have the ability to add up to two email addresses to receive shipping information.  Once the order has been shipped and tracking information is available, an email will be sent to the email addresses indicated on this page that lets the recipient know that the items have been shipped and how they can track the shipment. 
          • Please note that this email will not provide any information about the cost of the order.
      • Shipping method:
        • You can select the shipping method from the drop down list under the “Choose your shipping method” heading.
        • Once you do so, the shipping estimate will be calculated above to the right.  This is a “not to exceed” estimate.  Once the order is shipped, you will receive a credit back if the shipping was actually less than the estimate.  If the actual shipping cost was more than the estimate, APICS will cover the difference.
      • Proceeding to the next step:
        • Once you have completed the shipping information, you can click the “Continue to next step” button.
  • Checkout Step 2 of 3: From this page you will provide payment information for the order.
    • Billing Name: The billing name will always be the name of the person logged in unless you are an APICS channel partner representative purchasing on behalf of the partner organization as indicated in the cart before you proceeded to checkout.
    • Billing Address:
      • If you are paying for the order, please verify that the address as displayed on the page is correct.  If it is not:
        • Click the Change button above your name to view the additional addresses associated with your record
        • If the correct billing address is listed, click the Use Address button above the address.
        • If the correct billing address is not listed, click on the click here to add a new address link above the address book to add a new address to your record. Complete the form provided and click the Save Address button.  From the next page, click on the Use Address button.
          • Please note that while you are required to enter an Address Name, this name is only used to differentiate between addresses on your record (i.e., Home, Billing, or Vacation) and is not used to identify a different person to ship to.
          • If you are purchasing on behalf of an APICS channel partner organization, you will not be able to change the billing address.
      • Billing email addresses:
        • You have the ability to add up to two email addresses to receive order information.  There will be 2 emails sent to this address.
          • Once the order has been completed and the payment processed, an email be will sent to the email addresses as an order confirmation.  This email will include pricing for the products and the shipping and can be used as a receipt.
          • Once the order has been shipped and tracking information is available, an email will be sent to the email addresses letting the recipient know that the items have been shipped and how they can track the shipment. 
      • Payment method:
        • You can select the method of payment by completing the form to the right side of the page. Orders can be paid for using a credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) or PayPal.  If you are purchasing as a representative of an APICS channel partner, you have the option to charge the order to the partner organization.
        • Payment with credit card:
          • Click on the appropriate radio button and complete the payment details as requested.
          • Payment with PayPal:
            • Click the appropriate radio button and click on the Checkout with PayPal button at the bottom of the page.
            • Once you do so, you will be redirected to the PayPal site where you will be asked to sign into PayPal and authorize payment. You will then be redirected back to Shop APICS to review and complete your order.
      • Proceeding to the next step:
        • Once you have completed the payment information, you can click the “Review Order” button.
  • Checkout Step 3 of 3: From this page you will review your order to make sure it is correct before you commit.
    • Please verify the following information:
      • Shipping and Payment Methods
      • Billing name, address, and email addresses to receive order information and tracking information
      • Ship To name, address, phone number and email addresses to receive shipment tracking information
      • Items to be purchased and the pricing.
      • Proceeding to the next step:
        • Once you have reviewed the order details:
          • If the information is correct, you can click the “Place Order” button.
          • If any of the information is not correct, you can click the “Back” button to access the prior pages to make corrections.
  • Order Confirmation: After placing the order, you will see an order confirmation.  Print this page for your records if you need a receipt.

 

Shipping and Delivery

What carriers are used for shipping?

APICS uses United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (FedEx) in the United States and Canada. FedEx is used internationally, and select local carriers are used for shipping in Mexico.

What if I want to use my own shipping carrier?

No, you may not use your own carrier.

When will my order ship?

Orders are processed for shipment within two business days of placement excluding weekends and holidays.

How long does delivery take?

All orders are processed for shipment within two business days, and delivery after processing is within 7–10 business days domestically and 11–14 days internationally for standard shipping. Standard shipping charges will apply. Faster delivery incurs premium pricing. For example, orders placed Monday are processed by Wednesday to ship out that night.

How is the cost of shipping calculated?

APICS shipping and handling rates vary, depending upon total weight and size of the order, order destination, and preferred shipping method. If ordering through APICS Customer Service, the sales associates will provide the shipping and handling charges before placing your order. If you are ordering through APICS.org, simply place all desired items into the cart and proceed to checkout. Complete the "Shipping Details" page, select your desired shipping method, and view the order summery in the upper right side of the page. The order summery shows you the total price for your order, including estimated shipping and handling charges.

What happens if I put the wrong "ship to" address?

Once the order is processed, it cannot be modified. You will need to place another order, and a credit will be issued once the incorrect order has been returned to APICS and its condition confirmed.

Will you ship to a location other than my billing address?

Yes, the "ship to" address can be different than the "bill to" address. However, we do not ship to PO boxes and the "ship to" address must include a telephone number.

What countries do you ship to?

APICS ships globally. A phone number is required for all international shipments. An exact delivery address is also required. APICS does not ship to PO boxes. Overnight delivery service is not available to foreign countries. APICS has no control over delays in international shipments. Customs may retain control over when to release the shipment.

What are your shipping rates for international orders?

International orders are shipped via air. Customs charges and delivery schedules may vary. APICS has no control over the charges assessed by individual customs offices. Customs charges and any other fees incurred through customs are the responsibility of the customer and will be billed directly from customs. APICS has the right to bill the customer for any unpaid charges APICS receives from customs for the order. These charges are usually duty charges, import taxes, and brokerage fees. Charges may vary by country.

Is there Saturday and Sunday delivery?

No, there is no delivery on Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.

Once the order is shipped, can I reroute the order to another destination?

No, once the order is shipped, it cannot be rerouted to another destination. You are strongly encouraged to review your shipping address before finalizing your order.

"Most orders are processed and shipped within two business days upon receipt of full payment." What does "most" mean?

In cases where an item may be back ordered, we are unable to ship that item in our normal processing time. APICS or our fulfillment partner, Gilmore Global, will communicate any delays in shipping to the member or customer.

What do I do if I receive a damaged shipment or if I have a complaint about my order?

You may contact APICS Customer Service at 1-800-444-2742 or service@apics.org. APICS is not responsible for items damaged during shipping. Upon receipt of the damaged materials, you must notify APICS Customer Service.

Can I change the delivery method of an order?

No, APICS strives to provide the most efficient method of delivery to ensure that you get what you ordered in a timely manner.

Can I stop the delivery of an order?

APICS cannot stop delivery once an order has been processed for shipping. You may return the order to us within 30 days of the shipment date listed on your packing slip to receive credit for your order.

How do I track an order?

There are two ways to track an order:

  • You must first login to APICS.org by clicking the log in button at the top of any page. If you are already logged into APICS.org, click the "My APICS" tab at the top of the webpage to access your account information. By clicking "Order History," you can access your tracking information and track a package by contacting the carrier.
  • You will also receive your tracking information in an automatic shipping notification emailed to you after your order ships.

Return Policy

What is the APICS return policy?

If you are not satisfied with your order, you may return materials to the APICS distribution center within 30 days for a refund.
  • Returned materials must be in salable condition.
  • DVDs, CDs, and software must be in the original packaging with accessories.
  • DVDs, CDs, and software must be unopened unless defective, which is subject to inspection.
  • Ship all returns via a traceable carrier method.
  • Enclose a copy of the packing slip to ensure proper and timely credit for returns.
  • Wrap the return package securely.

Please note:

  • For credit card purchases, your original credit card will be credited.
  • For other forms of payment, a check will be issued within four weeks after confirmation of receipt of the product.
  • Online courses are not returnable and nonrefundable.
  • There are no refunds for clearance items.

Who will pay for return shipping?

Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. APICS does not accept CODs and postage due will be deducted from the refund or credit amount.

Who will pay for return shipping if the error is made by APICS or its distributor?

Will customers be notified when a return is received?

Yes, customers are notified after APICS has confirmed that the product has been received.

What is the return policy for orders placed through an international associate (IA) or authorized educational provider (AEP)?

Customers purchasing from an IA or AEP must consult that IA or AEP from which they purchased the items.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

APICS strives to meet customer demands for prompt service and delivery. To facilitate this goal, APICS processes orders throughout the day. There is no way to cancel or modify an order once it has entered the fulfillment process.

Can I change the product after I've submitted an order?

No, when an order has been submitted for processing, any product changes must be made by placing a new order.

Can I change the delivery method of an order?

No, APICS strives to provide the most efficient method of delivery to ensure that you get what you ordered in a timely manner.

Can I change the address of an order after it has been submitted?

No, once the order is submitted no changes can be made to the address of the order.

Can I take notes electronically on the APICS e-downloads copy itself?

This feature is not available when viewing in Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you are viewing using Adobe Acrobat Pro then you will be able to add and save notes to the document.

If I purchase APICS e-downloads and two to three months later, the document is revised or updated, will I receive the updates?

While you will not receive an updated file, APICS will make available a summary of the changes and updates made in the new version on APICS.org.

What is the return policy for APICS e-Downloads if I am not happy with them?

APICS e-downloads are not returnable.

Is there an access expiration date; and, if so, how long is my access?

APICS e-downloads are valid for a period of 395 days from the date of purchase.

Is APICS e-downloads Macintosh accessible?

APICS e-downloads are accessible from an Intel Apple Macintosh computer running OS X and a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.1 or later. We recommend that for the best experience you use Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 8 or later.

What is an "APICS e-download"?

APICS e-downloads protect, control, and track the distribution and reading of PDF documents while providing a seamless reader experience with no plug-ins or software installations necessary.

What do I need to do to view APICS e-downloads?

You will need a computer running Microsoft Windows XP or later or an Intel Apple Macintosh running OS X. Your computer must have sufficient disk space and system resources to operate Adobe Acrobat Reader. You will need a properly installed and working copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.1 or later. You may also use a properly installed and working copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro, version 6.1 or later. We recommend that for the best experience you use Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro, version 8.0 or later.

Can I print APICS e-Download?

The option to print an APICS e-download varies according to the policy for that particular document. If you are allowed to print your particular document, then the printing option will be available in the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If your document does not allow printing, then the print option will not be available in the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please note that when printing an APICS e-download document it will print with two watermarks. The first watermark is a general copyright that appears in a light gray behind the text of the document. The second watermark is a small text watermark that identifies the person who purchased the document.

Can I send APICS e-Download to someone else?

You may not share APICS e-download documents with others.

Can I read my APICS e-download on a new or second computer?

You may open your APICS e-download document on up to two computers. After the document is opened on the second computer, it will not be readable on additional computers. Note: The license agreement allows a single user to access the document from two locations. It may not be used as a means of sharing the document.

Can I view APICS e-Download on my Kindle, Sony Reader, Nook, or iPad?        
   

These devices do not support the APICS e-download format.

Can I download an APICS e-download, print it, and then make copies for others in my company or department?
