Winners were recognized in an award ceremony held at the 2006 APICS International Conference and Exposition, October 29-31, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

“It is a great pleasure to recognize the outstanding contributions and accomplishments of APICS’ outstanding volunteer leaders from across the country,” said Abe Eshkenazi, CPA, CHE, CAE, APICS executive director and chief operating officer. “The commitment these individuals make to advancing APICS and the operations management profession is an inspiration to us all.”

The prestigious 2006 APICS Voluntary Service Award is presented annually to an APICS member who demonstrates superior leadership achievements and contributions to the association in areas that include APICS chapter committees and certification programs. Award recipients also display leadership in other professional associations and community organizations. This year the award was presented to two individuals, Walton R. “Bob” Collins, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, and John S. Pennington. Collins has been a staunch supporter and active APICS member since 1992.
