APICS and Microsoft Team Up to Enhance Operations, Communications, and Productivity for Global Supply Chain Managers

Alexandria, VA (July 10, 2006) APICS The Association for Operations Management announced today it has entered into an agreement with Microsoft to enhance operations and communications for the thousands of supply chain managers who use the powerful Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP software products. Under this agreement, the new release of Microsoft Dynamics AX will incorporate the more than 3,500 operations management industry terms and definitions from the APICS Dictionary, respected as the industry wide standard in the operations management field.

“Global organizations of all types and sizes routinely rely on the APICS Dictionary to ensure their teams are communicating effectively. Through this relationship, two industry gold standards have partnered to benefit supply chain and operations teams the world over,” said APICS Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Abe Eshkenazi, CPA, CHE, CAE.

Microsoft Dynamics AX is an adaptable, global business-management solution that works with familiar Microsoft ® software and helps organizations from the mid-market to the enterprise gain a competitive advantage through technology. “With the inclusion of the APICS Dictionary in Microsoft Dynamics AX software, operations will be even more collaborative and streamlined, producing real bottom-line results for organizations,” said Mark A. Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 is now generally available in the United States and Canada and will be available in the rest of the world later this year, localized for 36 languages and 40 countries.
