Speaker Announced for the 2006 APICS International Conference and Exposition in Orlando, Florida
Alexandria, VA (August 29, 2006) APICS The Association for Operations Management today announced the addition of Nils Herzberg, SAP, COO Product Technology Unit Industry, to the impressive lineup of speakers for the 2006 APICS International Conference and Exposition. Mr. Herzberg joins featured speakers Burt Rutan, CEO of Scaled Composites, LLC, and Cartoonist Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert for the 2006 APICS conference, which will be held October 29-31, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. As the premier event for supply chain and operations management professionals, the APICS International Conference and Exposition attracts more than 2,000 attendees each year to participate in three days of action-packed, interactive, and informative sessions covering the latest trends, strategies, and advancements in the supply chain and operations management industries.
Drawing from his professional experience that includes worldwide Regional Industry Support for the SAP field organizations and its integration partners, Mr. Herzberg will explore the relentless forces of globalization and technology that present new supply chain challenges and opportunities. Herzberg will share his insight on challenges managers face on a daily basis in a market environment, while driving superior service and quality performance at the lowest cost through their supply chains. He will also discuss how successful companies are turning challenges such as regulatory compliance, green supply chains, and supplier integration into business opportunities.
In addition to Mr. Herzberg, one of the greatest innovators of our time, Burt Rutan, CEO of Scaled Composites, LLC, and creator of SpaceShipOne, the first privately funded manned aircraft to reach space and winner of the Ansari X-Prize, will share his thoughts on how innovation occurs. Focusing on the requirements—the inspiration, the courage to take risks, and the drive to succeed he will describe important innovations of the past and encourage new breakthroughs to inspire the innovators of the future.
Finally, Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, dubbed the "cartoon hero of the workplace" by the San Francisco Examiner, will describe his formula for writing humor and how you can apply humor at work .
In addition to these speakers, the conference offers more than 90 educational sessions addressing a variety of topics including auto identification, business intelligence, demand management and forecasting, global supply chain, logistics, project management, professional advancement, operations management essentials and warehousing.
