APICS ANNOUNCES 2007 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alexandria, VA (January 2, 2007) APICS The Association for Operations Management today announced that Joseph F. Shedlawski, CPIM, Principal, Commercial Operations at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, has been elected as president of its board of directors. The 2007 board took office on January 1.

Shedlawski possesses more than 25 years of leadership experience in many aspects of operations management, in both plant and corporate positions, in the pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and consumer products businesses. He has been an APICS-Northern New Jersey Chapter member for more than 21 years, and served as that Chapter’s president in 1991. Shedlawski, a resident of Chestnut Ridge, NY, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA., and an MBA in Finance with Honors from Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y.

“As APICS prepares to celebrate 50 years of service in the operations management profession, I am honored to be leading such a dynamic organization,” said Shedlawski. “I am looking forward to working with the new board to build upon the momentum generated in 2006. In the coming year, APICS will focus on delivering value to individual members and enterprises alike through enhancing products and services, providing the best and most widely recognized certifications in the field, and expanding APICS’ global leadership role in the operations management profession.”
