APICS Debuts New Professional Academic Membership at the Production and Operations Management (POMS) Conference in Dallas
Alexandria, VA (May 4, 2007) APICS The Association for Operations Management announced today that its sister organization, the APICS Educational and Research (E&R) Foundation, Inc., will exhibit at the 2007 Production and Operations Management (POMS) conference in Dallas on May 4-7, 2007. At the venue APICS will introduce its newest membership offering, the Academic Professional Membership, suited for the more than 1,000 conference attendees from the academic community.
The APICS academic professional membership fosters a stronger connection between educators and practitioners in operations management to bring credibility to the field through education and knowledge. Together with the APICS E&R Foundation, the nation’s premier forum for operations management research, education programs, and curriculum development, APICS aims to foster thought leadership in industry.

The academic professional membership is available to qualified individuals who are currently full-time employees of one or more accredited academic institutions as a professor, assistant professor , a ssociate professor, r esearcher, d ean, l ecturer, or equivalent international title. The academic professional membership category supplements the APICS membership categories for professionals, group or enterprises, students, and retirees.
