APICS Launches Redesigned Magazine to Reflect
Operations Management Focus
Alexandria, VA (March 1, 2005) APICS The Association for Operations Management is pleased to announce the redesign of its award-winning magazine, debuting with the March 2005 issue. In keeping with the association’s recent rebranding effort, the updated look incorporates the new APICS logo and the expanded editorial content reflects APICS’ focus on operations management. The tag line, “The Performance Advantage,” will be dropped in favor of the name, APICS magazine.
“Our readers have been telling us they want more practical content in the areas of selecting and getting the most out of enterprise-level software systems, as well as in the research area—what the trends are in operations management and how the field is evolving,” said Douglas R. Kelly, editor-in chief of APICS magazine. “We’re therefore introducing two new regular sections, Enterprise Insights, focusing on enterprise applications, and Relevant Research, which will tackle those cutting-edge research topics in the operations management arena.”
The expanded editorial coverage will also include ways in which the APICS body of knowledge is applied in the service sector. A special section focusing on managing demand in the health care field is featured in the March issue.
“With APICS’ expanded focus on all aspects of operations management and the magazine’s new editorial direction, we feel this is an ideal time to visually update the publication. We’re looking forward to hearing what our readers and advertisers think as we make the premier publication in operations management even better,” said Kelly.
The award-winning design firm, Dever Designs of Laurel, Maryland, developed the new look.
