APICS Announces 2005 Educational Workshop Schedule

Alexandria, VA (November 3, 2004) APICS announces its educational workshop schedule for 2005. The workshop curriculum addresses the terminology, concepts, and strategies successfully employed in operations management. These three-day sessions, taught by instructors with expertise in the APICS body of knowledge, cover manufacturing planning and control systems, purchasing, lean production, forecasting, master scheduling, material and capacity requirements planning, inventory management, sales and operations planning, scheduling and controlling production, quality initiatives, strategic planning, and emerging processes and technologies.

"APICS workshops provide a creative learning environment to sharpen one's skills and support the study for the prestigious APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management designation. Through the application of APICS' lean principles and value-stream mapping, operations management professionals can realize significant improvements that positively affect lead times, inventory, productivity, and bottom-line profitability," stated Jeffry W. Raynes, CAE, APICS executive director and chief operating officer.
