APICS Editor Wins Silver Inkwell Award from
International Association of Business Communicators
Alexandria, VA (September 2, 2003) Amy Azzam, managing editor of APICS—The Performance Advantage published by APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management, is the recipient of two Silver Inkwell Awards for communications excellence presented by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Azzam was honored for the second year in the Writing: Feature Story category for her articles, "A Choice in the Matter," which appeared in the October 2002 issue of the magazine, and "Looking Down the Road," which was published in the March 2003 magazine. The first article addresses what prospective buyers of warehouse management systems should consider before purchasing a new system. "Looking Down the Road" looks at how supply chain event management software enables a company to respond to unplanned events that disrupt the supply chain.
"IABC honors those whose work serves as outstanding examples of communication with vision. It is an honor for APICS and Azzam to be recognized by her peers from IABC chapters throughout the country for excellence, meeting the highest standards for communications professionals," said Jeffry Raynes, CAE, APICS executive director and chief operating officer.
The Silver Inkwell Awards recognize outstanding achievement in 47 categories including print, electronic, visual, interactive, and video communication. IABC supports the highest professional standards of quality and innovation in organizational communication.
