APICS Conference Publication and Editor
Win APEX Publication Awards


Alexandria, VA (July 9, 2003) The 2002 APICS Conference News, published by APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management with Mary H. King as editor-in-chief, received the award for publication excellence in the APEX 2003 competition in the Magapapers and Newspapers - Printed Four Color category. The newspaper was distributed to attendees at the 2002 APICS International Conference and Exposition.

Managing Editor of APICS—The Performance Advantage, Amy Azzam, was honored for the second year, this time in the Feature Writing category for her article, "Looking Down the Road," which appeared in the March 2003 issue. The winning article looks at how supply chain event management software enables a company to respond to unplanned events that disrupt the supply chain.

It is an honor for APICS and its professional staff to be recognized for outstanding work and dedication to achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence," said Jeffry Raynes, CAE, APICS executive director and chief operating officer.

The APEX awards competition for writers, editors, publications department staffs, and business communicators, managed by Communications Concepts, Inc., Springfield, Virginia, is in its 15th year recognizing outstanding publications from throughout the United States. Nearly 5,000 entries were evaluated in more than 100 categories.
