APICS Expands Global Network in Thailand

Alexandria, VA (April 28, 2003) APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management announces the affiliation of SCM Consultant Ltd., also known as SCM Institute of Bangkok, Thailand. SCM joins Thai Logistics and Production Society as the second APICS International Associate in Thailand and brings the number of APICS International Associates outside of North America to 29.

"The principal purpose of SCM is to effectively provide industry management services, supply chain management education, and publications and training materials in the areas of production, inventory, and resource management. SCM's goals mirror APICS' objectives of providing cutting-edge training, education, and resources that meet the needs of the international community," said Bob Collins, CFPIM, CIRM, 2003 APICS president. "We are proud to welcome SCM."

SCM provides education and training in supply chain management and logistics throughout Thailand and will provide APICS' Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) courses to encourage industry professionals to pursue the CPIM designation.

SCM maintains alliances with more than 10 universities in Thailand and Hong Kong and contracts with major companies to provide resource management education and training services.
