APICS Executive Director Honored
by ASAE Foundation for
Contributions to Association Community
Alexandria, VA (March 19, 2003) Jeffry W. Raynes, CAE, executive director and chief operating officer of APICS-The Educational Society for Resource Management of Alexandria, Virginia, is being honored tonight for his visionary leadership and commitment to the association management profession by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Foundation at its annual dinner in Washington, D.C.
"Leadership is a privilege." remarked Raynes, "We all have opportunities to make a difference through the power of partnerships and the strength of relationships. I am humbled by this honor and most grateful to be a part of the association management community. I am indebted to ASAE and the ASAE Foundation for 26 years of encouragement, guidance, support, and for a wealth of good friends."
Raynes served as 2000-2001 chairman of the board of ASAE and was recognized for his contributions to the association management profession by his induction as an ASAE Fellow in 1987.
Before joining APICS in 1995, Raynes served as executive vice president and chief executive officer of the North American Die Casting Association. Raynes also was president and CEO of the Better Home Heat Council of Boston and director of marketing for the Association Management Corporation of Springfield, New Jersey. A Maine native, Raynes is a graduate of the University of Maine and is an honorary life member of the University of Maine Alumni Association Board of Directors.
