APICS Launches Redesigned, Robust Web Site

Alexandria, VA (December 9, 2003) APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management announces the launch of a completely redesigned Web site that offers visitors a robust, user-friendly online experience to access the latest solutions for inventory and supply chain management professionals.

"The redeveloped APICS Web site solution serves as a compelling showcase of APICS products, membership, and content offerings," said Jeffry W. Raynes, CAE, APICS executive director and chief operating officer. "APICS offers site visitors an abundance of resources that provide career-enhancing information and education in the supply chain and inventory management areas."

Features of the new site include

• Personalized functionality. All visitors will be asked to create an online profile by registering a unique username and password. Based on a visitor's profile, relevant information can be easily identified and accessed.
  
• Enhanced industry content. Industry news, white papers, best practices, and articles provide industry-specific information and real-life solutions to current issues in inventory and supply chain management.
  
• Interactive career center. The career center gives employers the ability to personally manage job searches in real time, including searching a secure résumé databank by keywords. Job seekers can build their own online profile, manage their job search, and respond to employer inquiries with targeted résumés.
  
• Redesigned APICS Bookstore. Visitors will benefit from the streamlined order process with faster, easier checkout; ability to view order history; and the new "wish list" feature.
  
• Sitewide search functionality. The new site features advanced search functionality, which identifies all areas within the site that match a visitor's keyword criteria.
