APICS Announces Inventory Control
and Lean Manufacturing
Workshops on CD-ROM

Alexandria, VA (October 5, 2003) APICS and the APICS Educational and Research Foundation, Inc., collaborated to develop two workshops on CD-ROM—Inventory Control Workshop Series and Lean Manufacturing Workshop Series.

"Distributing the APICS body of knowledge on CD-ROM is ideal for companies that want to provide mini-seminars on specific topics for their employees, for APICS chapter-sponsored workshops, and for individuals who choose to self-study at their home or office," said Mark Milroy, CAE, APICS director of professional development.

In the Inventory Control Workshop Series, the four-hour sessions include the Basics of Inventory Management, Cycle Counting, Distribution Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning and Bills of Material, and Physical Inventory.

The Lean Manufacturing Workshop Series, a seven-session workshop, starts with an eight-hour Introduction to Lean Manufacturing and is followed by the remaining six four-hour sessions. Those topics include Lean Mapping; 5 S; Process Improvement and Quality in Lean Manufacturing; Lean Scheduling; Standard Work; and Lean Teams, Lean Design, and Accounting.
