APICS Global Community Expands into the
Dominican Republic and Thailand

Alexandria, VA (October 28, 2002) APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management is pleased to announce the affiliation of Soluciones Technologicas, Asesoria y Mejoramiento (STEAM) of the Dominican Republic and Thai Logistics and Production Society (TLAPS) of Thailand. With the addition of these two organizations, APICS' global community expands to 28 international associates located outside of North America.

"For 45 years, APICS has been setting the standard as the global leader and premier provider of resource management education and information," stated 2002 APICS President L. Drew Rosen, Ph.D., Jonah. "APICS' goal is to provide cutting-edge training, education, and resources that meet the needs of a diverse international audience. We are pleased to welcome STEAM and TLAPS into our international network to administer APICS certification programs, educational materials, and other APICS resources to industry professionals in the Dominican Republic and Thailand."

STEAM, headquartered in Santo Domingo, offers training courses on logistics, manufacturing, and process improvement, works with local universities to help form student organizations and to teach courses, and participates in various seminars to promote educational programs that increase job performance and productivity in the Dominican Republic.

TLAPS, headquartered in Bangkok, is a membership organization representing professionals and academicians in the fields of logistics and production. TLAPS organizes various conferences, training sessions, and professional tours, as well as promotes educational research on issues related to logistics and production.
