Collaboration and Supply Chain
Management Sessions Just Added to the
APICS International Conference Program
Alexandria, VA (August 14, 2002) Collaboration and supply chain management sessions have just been added to the program at the 2002 APICS International Conference and Exposition, October 27-30, in Nashville, Tennessee.
"APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management wants to ensure that the latest business trends and solutions are covered at its premier educational event," said William P. Luttman, chairman of the 2002 APICS International Conference and Exposition Committee. "We are very excited to announce the addition of four cutting-edge sessions to our already stellar line-up of topics and industry experts appearing on the October program."
Oracle's Frank Prestipino, vice president for supply chain management product marketing, will address transaction management and how supply chain management systems empower decision making and strategic analysis for greater productivity and return on investment.
David Landau, director of product management at Manhattan Associates, will present real-life examples and tips for successful collaboration. According to Landau, "Becoming integrated in real time with all trading partners, customers, suppliers, and transportation providers to achieve efficiency will lead to global inventory visibility for optimum monitoring of the flow of inventory and associated data."
Douglas Derrick, partner, Accenture, and Dave Robinson, CPIM, CIRM, C.P.M., supply management manager, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, will also address successful collaboration efforts that resulted in 30 percent fulfillment increases and asset productivity gains of more than 20 percent.
Sanjay Kumar, lead product manager, Microsoft Business Solutions, will look at the advances in merchandising and pricing of consumer goods in conjunction with sound forecasting and mass customization. Kumar will stress the use of optimization tools needed for pricing and merchandising decisions and supply chain flexibility to improve profitability.
The APICS International Conference and Exposition, held annually, is the premier provider of educational and networking opportunities for resource management professionals. The 2002 conference will feature more than 100 educational sessions. Topics include collaboration, demand pipeline management, supplier relationship management, global business issues, and professional development management.
