Just-in-Time Redux 

Alexandria, VA (January 29, 2002) APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management announces the re-release of its Just-in-Time course. While the JIT concepts of improving quality, eliminating waste, and reducing manufacturing lead times and inventory, to name a few, are now taught throughout the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) curriculum, the society determined that the principles of lean manufacturing warranted the reissue of its JIT course as a stand-alone course.

“Individuals need to hone their skills in today’s lean manufacturing environment, and this course provides that opportunity,” said Mark K. Williams, CFPIM, APICS executive vice president. “The course is based on the philosophies of Deming and Juran that embody the same techniques as employed by leading companies such as Dell Computer and Toyota,” remarked Williams.
